The Peninsula Shanghai Discover the Hotel

The Peninsula Shanghai opened in 2009 and is The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels flagship hotel in Mainland China. Occupying a prime location with direct frontage on Shanghai’s historic Bund, The Peninsula is the first new building on the Bund in the last few decades and an anchor project in the Waitanyuan development scheme. The hotel features 235 rooms and suites, five restaurants and bars, a Spa, an indoor swimming pool and fitness centre, as well as a Peninsula Arcade showcasing over 25 high end brands.

    The only luxury hotel in Shanghai with a customised car fleet, The Peninsula Shanghai owns four bespoke Extended Wheelbase Rolls-Royce Phantoms, six BMW Peninsula Editions, two MINI Cooper S Clubman, and a magnificent and immaculately restored 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom II, all finished in signature Peninsula Green. Airport greeting service at the aerobridge can be provided upon request.

    The Peninsula Moments Campaign

    The Peninsula Shanghai’s “Peninsula Moments” film recreates the look and feel of Shanghai’s glamorous era when the city was feted as the “Paris of the East”. It opens with a journey in a bespoke Peninsula Rolls-Royce beginning at Shanghai’s iconic Garden Bridge and passing beautiful heritage buildings along the historic Bund while phasing in and out of memorable moments created at The Peninsula Shanghai. The inspiring film ends with exceptional panoramic views of the Pudong skyline and Huangpu River from Sir Elly’s Terrace, one of the best-known vantage points in the city.
