With the imminent arrival of the festive mooncake season, The Peninsula Shanghai Homemade Mooncakes with new package are back by popular demand and will be made available to the public from 10 August, 2017. Handcrafted by the Yi Long Court culinary team according to traditional Cantonese recipes and techniques, the mooncakes will be the only two Michelin-starred varieties available in Shanghai, offering unrivalled alternatives to the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival treats.
This year, Yi Long Court has conceptualized and created a trio of three mouthwatering mooncakes flavours, including traditional custard, durian– re–introduced after its resounding success in 2016 and pandan. Given the success of last year’s launch of durian flavored mooncakes, The Peninsula Shanghai will introduce another tropical-style pandan leaf mooncake, inspired by the delicate flavours of tropical desserts from Southern India and Southeast Asia. Matching wonderfully with the sweetness and richness of egg custard, pandan offers a unique aroma that, for many, is reminiscent of mocha.
The Peninsula Shanghai Handmade Custard Mooncakes gift set (8 pieces) is priced at RMB 428, the Durian Mooncake gift set (8 pieces) is RMB 468 and Pandan Mooncake gift set (8 pieces) is RMB 468. All mooncakes are handmade and released in limited batches.
